Our client, an international business law firm, is seeking to recruit an M&A; associate to strengthen its Montréal team.
The firm advises a leading corporate, institutional and entrepreneurial clientele on strategic transactions, both domestic and international. This opportunity is intended for a professional who wishes to work on complex deals within a structured, collaborative platform focused on excellence.
The Role
As an Mergers and Acquisitions lawyer, you will actively participate in all stages of major transactional matters, including acquisitions, business sales, strategic investments and corporate reorganizations.
The role offers direct exposure to high-impact mandates involving significant financial and commercial considerations.
Responsibilities
Participate in mergers and acquisitions involving private and public companiesWork on acquisitions and divestitures structured as asset or share dealsContribute to the legal structuring of complex transactional operationsDraft, review and negotiate a broad range of transaction documentsConduct corporate and commercial due diligencePrepare shareholders’ agreements, investment agreements and governance documentsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams (tax, financing, litigation,



etc.)Monitor file progress and coordinate the various transactional stagesMaintain direct contact with clients and external stakeholdersContribute to the development of legal and commercial strategies related to transactionsRequirements
Member in good standing of the Québec Bar3 to 5 years of relevant experience in mergers and acquisitions or transactional business lawExperience gained in private practice, ideally within a high-level practiceExcellent legal drafting and analytical skillsStrong understanding of corporate and commercial issuesAbility to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environmentAutonomy, rigor and strong prioritization skillsStrong communication and client relationship skillsTeam-oriented with sound professional judgmentBilingual (French/English)Benefits
