Clutch is Canada’s largest online used car retailer, delivering a seamless, hassle-free car buying and selling experience. Customers can sell their car instantly online using our ML-driven pricing model, or browse thousands of cars to buy, all from the comfort of their home.
Named three years in a row to the Globe & Mail’s list of the Top Growing Companies in Canada and awarded spots on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50™ and Fast 500™ lists, we’re looking to add curious, hard-working, and driven individuals to our growing team.
Headquartered in Toronto, Clutch was founded in 2017 and is backed by world-class investors including Canaan, BrandProject, Real Ventures, D1 Capital, and Upper90.
About the team
Clutch is an operations-heavy business. Every vehicle moves through a complex lifecycle before reaching a customer: pickup, inspection, reconditioning, detailing, photography, movement between facilities, preparation for sale, and delivery.
Hundreds of employees make that happen every day, and nearly all of them use software we build.
We’re looking for a Product Builder focused on learning and frontline operations — someone who can build products that help our teams learn faster, perform better, and become exceptional at their jobs.
The goal isn’t to build a traditional LMS. It’s to make the software people already use an increasingly powerful tool for training, feedback, progression, and mastery.
What you’ll do
Own learning and training problems end-to-end, from understanding the job through designing, building, launching, and improving the solutionSpend time with frontline teams to understand how they work, where people struggle, and what separates good performance from outstanding performanceBuild learning directly into Clutch’s internal tools and operational workflowsCreate onboarding, training,

certification, and feedback experiences that help employees become proficient fasterUse gamification thoughtfully to motivate progress, mastery, consistency, and engagementExplore simulations, challenges, scoring, progression systems, AI coaching, and other ways to make learning more effectiveMeasure whether what you build actually improves performance, quality, productivity, and time-to-proficiencyWork across product, design, engineering, data, and operations rather than handing work from one function to anotherShip quickly, observe how people use what you’ve built, and continuously iterate6+ years of experience building digital products, learning products, educational products, or similarly user-facing systemsStrong product sense and an ability to identify the underlying problem rather than simply building what was requestedA genuine passion for education, learning, training, and how people develop masteryStrong UX instincts and a high bar for simple, intuitive, engaging experiencesExperience designing products that drive repeated use, motivation, or behavioural changeComfort working directly with frontline users and learning how their jobs actually workComfort using AI-assisted or agentic tools to build software,

or a strong desire to become highly proficient with themWillingness to work outside the traditional boundaries of your disciplineAbility to measure whether a product actually changed behaviour or improved outcomesPreferred qualifications
Experience in edtech, education, learning technology, or training productsExperience building gamified or highly engaging consumer productsExperience at companies such as Duolingo, Khan Academy, Quizlet, Codecademy, Brilliant, or similarExperience building onboarding, certification, coaching, or performance-management productsExperience building internal tools or software for operationally complex businessesExperience working at a startup, either as an early employee or founderEvidence of having taught yourself skills outside your formal disciplineYou WILL NOT enjoy this role if
You think training primarily means creating courses, documentation, or slide decksYou want your responsibilities to stay strictly within product, design, education, or engineeringYou prefer handing work off once your part is completeYou don’t enjoy spending time with frontline usersYou value engagement without asking whether people are actually learningYou use gamification as decoration rather than as a tool for motivation and masteryYou prefer firm processes over adaptive onesYou don’t like small, agile teamsWhy you’ll love it at Clutch
Autonomy & ownership — own meaningful problems from beginning to endReal-world impact — improve how hundreds of frontline employees learn and workA unique design space — combine product, learning, gamification, AI, and operationsFast feedback loops — put working software in front of users and improve it quicklyCompetitive compensation and equity incentivesGenerous time off programClutch is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where all individuals have an opportunity to succeed. If you require accommodation at any stage of the interview proces
