Position Overview

You love AI. You love startups. You love helping accountants. And you want to move fast and actually get AI implemented, not just talk about it.

We're building something new to help accountants and business owners put AI to work, and we're looking for someone to build it with Mike Libbey.

The job is training teams to use AI and doing light builds (deep builds too, if you're there!). But it's heavy on relationships and sales. You'll own the client from the first call to the close and beyond.

How It Works

- Starts as a contract at around $3,500 a month plus commission
- A path to full time at $80K+ plus commission once the work proves out
- About 20 hours a week to start, 100% remote across Canada
- Accounting firms get busy February to April, so the pace shifts through tax season

Why this role exists

Accounting firms are asking us for help with AI, mostly through Mike's Claude 101 workshops, The AI-First Firm newsletter and YouTube. YBL's own business owner clients want the same help inside their businesses. We build a lot with AI ourselves, with 40+ internal tools, 200+ Claude skills and an in-house AI Solutions Architect. What we don't have yet is someone who owns the client side and turns that interest into scoped, sold and delivered AI work. That's this role.

What you'll own

Pipeline and sales

- Follow up on every inbound AI lead within 48 hours, from workshops, the newsletter, YouTube and our campaigns
- Run discovery calls that find the real workflow pain,



not just a feature request
- Put a dollar number on every problem, and price the fix as a fraction of that value, not by the hour
- Sell paid discovery, write proposals and close the work
- Join YBL sales calls as the AI expert when AI questions come up

Training and onboarding

- Run firm-wide Claude and ChatGPT trainings and onboarding sessions
- Set up Claude and ChatGPT team workspaces, Projects and skills from our library
- Own the AI training and AI audit for new YBL clients
- Help owners bring their teams along, including the change management side
- Build and sharpen a repeatable AI fundamentals training for accountants

Scoping and building

- Map how the work actually gets done, with the people who do it
- Build quick prototypes with AI tools after discovery
- Build custom Projects and skills yourself, and go deeper if you've got it
- Hand bigger automations and apps to our AI Solutions Architect with transparent requirements

Client relationship and delivery

- Be the client's single point of contact from discovery through delivery
- Test on the client's real records before anything goes live
- Hand over every engagement with a one-page summary and a short video walkthrough
- Send a monthly one-page value report showing what the system handled, the time saved and what it's worth
- Manage scope changes and flag risks early

Shaping what we sell

- Bring patterns from discovery calls back to Mike, like repeated pain points, pricing friction and objections
- Help turn our AI services into repeatable, well-packaged offers
- Work with marketing on the website, campaigns and case studies, and show up in YouTube and newsletter content once the service is live

- Every inbound AI lead hears back within 48 hours, with a discovery call booked within 5 days
- Every client gets a clean handover and a monthly value report
- Prototypes our AI Solutions Architect can build from without reworking the scope
- Projects delivered on scope and on time, by clients who'd refer us
- Profitable revenue that grows month over month

What You Bring

- You've run AI trainings or workshops, and people walked out using what you taught them
- Hands-on experience with Claude, including Projects, skills, prompts or workflows
- An accounting or bookkeeping background
- Client-facing sales or consulting experience, including closing work
- You're comfortable owning a pipeline and a number
- You can explain technical ideas simply

Nice to have

- You've set up or run a Claude or ChatGPT team workspace for a company
- Experience with APIs or connecting tools through integrations
- Karbon, QuickBooks Online, Notion or similar tools
- Startup or early-stage experience

How You Work

- You own the client relationship from first call to final delivery
- You say early when scope, timeline or fit is at risk
- You respect the line between a prototype and a production build
- You document as you go, so the next engagement starts ahead
- You're honest with clients about what AI can and can't do
