What you will do…

- Alter and repair leather garments, including altering seam allowances and garment length, fixing tears, repairing/replacing zippers and applying buttons/snaps according to customer specifications and professional quality standards.
- Operate sewing machines or sew by hand to complete repairs and alterations.
- Iron/steam garments and sort by size.
- Attach security tags to garments.
- Repair handbags and accessories.
- Change garment labels as directed.
- Paste labels and ticket merchandise as required.
- Communicate status of garment/accessory repairs to management.

What you bring to the team….

- 3-5 years’ knowledge and expertise in tailoring and alterations with experience with luxury leather garments including jackets, skirts, and pants an asset




- Thorough knowledge of and ability to use and maintain basic machines used in alterations
- Proficient in sewing and making garments with well-developed manual dexterity, good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail in working with luxury materials
- Keen sense of color perception and fabric types
- Ability to lift up to 10kg/20 lbs. and manipulate garments and handbags
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Well-developed interpersonal and English oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Strong work ethic, reliable and punctual

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

- Work requires lifting up to 10kg/20 pounds
- Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling
- Enclosed private work area in clean, quiet warehouse setting.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate

- Concord, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:
- Leather repair : 5 years (required)
