Locks Salon and Spa is a well-established, professional salon in the heart of Peterborough. We are currently seeking a motivated and career-focused Apprentice / Assistant to join our talented team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate of a recognized hairstyling program who is ready to build their career in a professional salon while working alongside experienced stylists.

Position Overview The ideal candidate has successfully completed a hairstyling education program and is ready to begin or continue their apprenticeship in a supportive, education-focused salon. You will assist our licensed stylists, provide outstanding customer service, and develop your technical skills through hands-on experience and ongoing mentorship.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Completion of a recognized Hairstyling diploma or certificate program
- Registered Hairstylist Apprentice in Ontario, or eligible to register
- Passion for the hairstyling profession and commitment to continuous learning
- Knowledge of Aveda products and philosophy is considered an asset
- Excellent communication, consultation, and customer service skills
- Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a clean, safe,



and sanitary work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Versatile availability, including evenings and Saturdays
- Previous salon experience is considered an asset but is not required

Key Responsibilities

- Assist licensed hairstylists with client services and daily salon operations
- Shampoo, condition, and prepare guests for hair services
- Learn and perform hairstyling services under the supervision of licensed stylists as permitted through your apprenticeship
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional salon environment
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming experience for every guest
- Recommend professional retail products to support clients' hair care needs
- Participate in salon education, training, and team meetings
- Support front desk when required
