Please Note: This is a temporary position ending on or before November 30, 2027 The Senior Business Analyst is a generalist enterprise practitioner who helps NAIT translate strategy into measurable improvements in services, processes, operating models, and organizational capabilities. The role is not tied to a specific technology platform. It works across business units and transformation initiatives to frame complex problems, assess current-state performance, clarify desired outcomes, and design practical, sustainable improvements. Working with leaders, subject-matter experts, project and change practitioners, data and finance partners, and delivery teams, the Senior Business Analyst provides strategic analysis from early discovery through implementation and post-implementation evaluation. The role also strengthens the Business Analysis practice by developing common methods, reusable knowledge, quality standards, and coaching for other analysts and business partners. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable facilitating executive-level problem framing, mapping end-to-end processes, developing options and business cases, defining benefits, and supporting teams through implementation. Success is demonstrated through better decisions, clearer accountabilities, improved process outcomes, reduced rework, and evidence that intended benefits have been realized.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic and Enterprise Analysis

Partner with leaders and business units to translate strategic priorities into clearly defined problems, outcomes, capabilities, and improvement opportunities. Lead structured discovery, problem framing, options analysis, scenario analysis, and recommendation development for ambiguous or cross-functional issues. Assess impacts across people, process, information, policy, technology, governance, and organizational structure. Contribute analysis and portfolio insight that improve prioritization, sequencing, investment decisions, and strategy-to-benefits traceability. Develop decision-ready business cases and recommendations that clearly articulate value, risks, assumptions, dependencies, costs, and expected benefits. Facilitation and Stakeholder Partnership

Design and facilitate productive workshops with diverse participants, including senior leaders, operational teams, subject-matter experts, and delivery partners. Build trust across business units, surface differing perspectives, and help groups reach clear decisions, commitments, and next steps. Communicate complex analysis through concise narratives, visual models, presentations, and decision materials tailored to the audience. Challenge assumptions constructively and maintain an objective, evidence-informed perspective. Process Improvement and Service Design

Lead current-state and future-state analysis for end-to-end processes, services, value streams, and operating models. Use process mapping, value-stream mapping, root-cause analysis, gap analysis, customer or stakeholder journey analysis, and service-design techniques to identify improvement opportunities. Clarify process ownership, decision rights, roles, handoffs, controls, measures, and governance required to sustain improvements. Facilitate cross-functional teams to redesign processes, reduce complexity and rework, improve consistency, and strengthen the experience of students, employees, and partners. Define practical process measures and support baseline, target-setting, implementation, and continuous-improvement reviews. Integrated Delivery and Benefits Realization

Provide end-to-end analysis across initiatives, from intake and concept development through implementation and post-implementation evaluation. Lead stakeholder, requirements, impact, solution, and readiness analysis at a level appropriate to the complexity and risk of the work. Collaborate with project, change, communications, finance, data, policy, and technology partners while maintaining a business-outcome focus. Define measurable benefits, indicators, assumptions, owners, and evidence sources, and support teams in tracking whether intended value is realized. Identify risks, interdependencies, unintended consequences, and implementation barriers early enough to influence decisions. Business Analysis Practice Maturity

Help establish and improve a single intake approach, service-tier criteria, minimum analysis standards, quality checkpoints, and peer-review practices. Develop and curate reusa
