Current 2-year Business Analyst contract role open now in downtown Calgary Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Data Governance Business Analyst in the oil and gas sector in Calgary, Alberta. We are seeking a Data Governance Business Analyst for our client to support enterprise data governance initiatives, helping establish frameworks, policies, and best practices that improve data quality, compliance, and business decision-making. This role will partner with business and technical teams to drive data governance maturity across the organization.

Responsibilities

- Implement and support data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and drive data governance initiatives.
- Document data flows, data lineage, governance processes, and supporting procedures.
- Develop and deliver training, workshops, and communications to promote governance best practices.
- Support data-focused projects including data cataloging, metadata management, ERP modernization, and governance tool implementation.

Requirements





- 3+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Business Analysis roles.
- Hands-on experience with data stewardship, data cataloging, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles and regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
- Experience with Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Fabric.
- Nice to Have: Experience with S/4HANA ERP modernization, Power BI, Power Platform, Asset Information Management, CDMP/DGPO certifications, or change management initiatives.

Soft skills

- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.

What's in it for you: $40.00 - $55.00 hourly.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, full-time hours, 3 days in-office.

Contract duration: 2 years.

Location: downtown CalgaryT4 and Incorporated rates available.
