Definity seeks a Complex Claim Director with legal expertise in Financial Lines claims and a adaptable, hybrid work experience. Manage complex coverage matters across Canada. This lawyer manages claims involving cyber liability, directors’ and officers’ liability, employment practices liability, fidelity and crime, and professional liability. The role conducts coverage analysis, investigations, evaluations, negotiations, and dispositions. Collaboration with claim and underwriting colleagues supports customer service and claim results. Key Responsibilities:

Analyze coverage for moderate to high-severity claims Investigate, evaluate, negotiate,



and resolve assigned claims Prepare reports on loss development and financial exposure Coordinate recovery opportunities and efforts Manage counsel, litigation plans, budgets, and payments Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor or LLB Qualified practitioner of law in employment province Bilingual French and English communication skills At least three years’ legal or claims experience Financial Lines insurance experience is ideal Apply legal judgment, Financial Lines knowledge, and negotiation skills as Definity’s Complex Claim Director supporting claim and underwriting decisions.
