Remote or hybrid in the Greater Toronto Area, this internship combines embedded software with drone security research and prototyping.
As an Embedded Systems and Drone Security Research and Development Intern, you will work directly with the project lead. You will research identity management for drones, moving from simulation toward working hardware. The Fall/Winter internship includes hands-on embedded and security work tested in simulation and on real hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up drone simulations with PX4 or ArduPilot
- Develop embedded software for drone identity management
- Integrate controller authentication and secure credential storage
- Test authentication failures and connectivity loss
- Document architecture, experiments, code, and results
Requirements:
- Use C/C++, Python, Linux, and Git
- Understand flight controllers and embedded systems
- Understand MAVLink and hardware interfaces
- Demonstrate robust troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Simulation or cryptographic identity experience is advantageous
Apply embedded, Linux, and security skills to prototype identity management for drones across simulation and hardware.
