Advance pion lifetime research onsite at TRIUMF in Vancouver by developing simulations and supporting detector research. Collaborate with beam line experts.
This undergraduate student position contributes to designing a dedicated experiment targeting 0.01% relative uncertainty. You will develop M20 beam line and detector simulation packages using Geant4 and G4beamline. The work builds understanding of pion decay physics and experimental methods while supporting design decisions. Hands-on R&D; involving SiPM-based detectors and silicon strip sensors is available for interested students. You will document daily work, present progress, and explain research to non-specialists.
