Shape accurate financial reporting for SD42 as a Senior Accountant, using general ledger expertise and analytical reasoning at the District Education Office.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this full time continuing position supports timely accounting records, financial data, analyses, budgets, and projections. The 35-hour weekly schedule follows a 12-month calendar, effective November 9, 2026. You will review accounting data, process system transfers, and support reporting for senior management, the Board, and the Ministry of Education and Child Care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain the general ledger chart of accounts
- Process accounting data transfers and payroll interfaces
- Complete complex general ledger and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly,



quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Prepare cash flow projections and monitor grant payments

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Three to five years' intermediate accounting experience
- Knowledge of Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards
- Microsoft Office and financial information systems proficiency
- Valid BC driver's license
