Advance numerical algorithms at GeoSoftware with strong Python and modern C++ in a distributed, senior engineering team. Work across geoscience software. As an experienced computational engineer, you will modernize numerical cores into headless, testable, independently deployable components. The work combines research, algorithm development, optimization, and verification. You will collaborate with geoscientists and platform engineers while improving production software used across the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Modernize numerical code into independently deployable components
- Expose C++ algorithms to Python through pybind11
- Investigate reformulations and numerical methods for substantial speed gains
- Build prototypes with geoscience subject matter experts
- Write regression and characterization tests for algorithm changes
Requirements:
- Minimum five years in numerical, scientific, or performance-critical computing
- Strong modern C++ and production numerical computing experience
- Robust Python with NumPy, SciPy, and native-code binding experience
- Physics, geophysics, geoscience, or applied mathematics background
- Parallel programming, performance optimization, and floating-point knowledge Apply computational research, Python, C++, and numerical verification to modernize GeoSoftware geoscience algorithms for production.
