ABOUT VOYAGER CONTROLS

Voyager Controls is a Building Automation Systems (BAS) contractor based in Mississauga, delivering DDC and HVAC controls projects on commercial and institutional buildings across the GTA.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Project Manager who has delivered BAS, DDC or HVAC controls projects end to end, and can own schedule, budget, scope and General Contractor relationships across several concurrent controls installations in the GTA.

This is a project-ownership role, not a field-coordination role. You will be accountable for how the job lands, commercially and technically.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

- BAS and HVAC controls projects end to end: kickoff, installation, commissioning, closeout
- Schedules, milestones and budgets, built, maintained and reported
- Financial performance: costs, change orders and margin, with variances flagged early
- RFIs, RFQs and submittals through to resolution
- The relationship with General Contractors, mechanical consultants and subcontractors
- Review of controls specifications, mechanical and electrical drawings, points lists and sequences of operation, finding scope gaps and driving them to resolution
- Commissioning and system turnover, confirming BAS performance meets the sequence of operations and design intent

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- 5+ years managing BAS, DDC, HVAC controls or mechanical projects (10+ welcome)
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, DDC controls, BACnet and BAS network architecture
- Familiarity with controls panels, field devices, sensors, actuators, VAV boxes, air handling units and chiller plant controls
- Demonstrated ownership of budgets, schedules and change order and RFI processes
- Experience with General Contractors, mechanical consultants and subcontractors on active construction sites
- Comfortable on active construction sites and travelling to job sites across the GTA
- Valid G driver's licence and access to a vehicle
- Engineering, mechanical, electrical or controls education, or equivalent industry experience.

BAS PLATFORMS WE WORK WITH Johnson Controls FX and Facility Explorer, Honeywell, Carrier i-Vu, Distech, Delta Controls, Automated Logic WebCTRL, Niagara N4, Siemens and Reliable Controls. Depth on any of these is valuable, breadth across several more so.

HELPFUL TO HAVE

- Hands-on BAS installation, DDC programming, graphics or commissioning background
- BACnet MS/TP and BACnet IP troubleshooting
- Managing multiple concurrent controls projects
- Project management software such as Procore, MS Project or Primavera. We run Zoho Projects and will get you up to speed, prior Zoho experience is not expected
- Energy management, retro-commissioning or smart building project experience
- Risk management and cost control practices
