Guide industrial automation projects for Saputo in St. Marys, combining technical leadership with control systems, networks, and instrumentation expertise. Flexibility may be required. This Automation Controls Lead reports to the Maintenance Manager and oversees automation support for plant improvements and optimization. The position emphasizes project planning, process skills, technical documentation, and collaboration across maintenance, engineering, contractors, and OT/IT. You will help keep automated systems compliant while optimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Support plant improvement projects from planning through implementation
- Respond to and mitigate control-related issues
- Collaborate on PLC, HMI, and system-control programming
- Help maintenance optimize downtime and troubleshooting practices
- Prepare project budgets with partner departments
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or comparable training
- Two to five years of relevant experience
- Professional Engineers of Ontario standing or provincial equivalent
- Knowledge of industrial Ethernet and automation networks
