We are a busy cafe on Kingston Rd in Pickering, Ontario (near Whites Rd), and we are looking for an experienced Cafe Shift Supervisor to lead our team during their shifts. You will keep the floor running smoothly, support and guide team members, and make sure every guest gets great food, great coffee and friendly service. This role is for someone with at least 1 year of experience at a cafe or other food service business.
What you will do
- Lead the team on shift and work on the floor alongside them, especially during busy periods
- Open and close the cafe, following daily procedures
- Train and support team members and keep shifts running smoothly
- Maintain high standards for food quality, drink quality and customer service
- Make sure food safety, health and cleanliness standards are followed at all times
- Handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally
- Handle cash and end-of-shift reports
What we are looking for
- At least 1 year of experience at a cafe, restaurant or other food service business (required)
- Availability to work weekends and evenings (required)
- Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to the cafe for every scheduled shift (required)
- Solid leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stay organized and calm in a fast-paced environment
- Food Handler Certificate is an asset
Details Pay: Starting at $18.50 per hour
