Design Faire’s next-generation data platform using Kafka and Iceberg while working in a hybrid mode with three office days weekly. Lead ingestion architecture for analytics and data science. As a Staff Engineer, you will own how production data reaches analytical stores across Faire. You will guide CDC, streaming ingestion, lakehouse architecture, and platform reliability. The work supports Product Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, Analytics, Strategy, Finance, and Product.

Key Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for production-to-analytics data movement
- Build CDC pipelines from CockroachDB and MySQL through Kafka
- Land streaming data in Iceberg tables on S3
- Implement data contracts and quality checks across platforms
- Lead migrations,



reliability practices, and engineering mentorship

Requirements:
- Deep change data capture and Kafka streaming experience
- Hands-on Iceberg, S3, Spark, Databricks, and Snowflake experience
- Experience operating Airflow and managed ingestion with Fivetran
- Strong SQL, Python, and one additional listed language
- Experience with AWS infrastructure, Terraform, governance, and mentoring Bring staff-level data platform leadership, streaming expertise, and lakehouse experience to Faire’s analytical infrastructure.
