Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Application Modernization Specialist to support a large application modernization project with a leading higher education client. This person will assess and modernize a legacy application built on Java 8, Angular/AngularJS, REST APIs, and Db2. This will be a hands-on technical role focused on identifying performance issues, technical debt, and opportunities to upgrade or refactor the application.
Skills and Requirements
8+ years of Java development experienceExperience modernizing legacy Java 8 applications to newer Java versionsStrong Angular and AngularJS experience, including AngularJS-to-Angular migrationsExperience breaking apart/refactoring monolithic applications and extracting servicesStrong Spring/Spring Boot, REST API, JPA/Hibernate, and SQL experienceExperience diagnosing application performance issues using Java profiling, tracing, SQL analysis,



and load testingExperience with Db2 or similar relational databasesExperience conducting code/technical debt assessments and creating modernization recommendationsStrong understanding of secure coding and OWASPAzure experienceDocker/Kubernetes and CI/CDSonarQube or similar code analysis toolsExperience with IBM environmentsHigher education, student registration, or payment system experienceWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
