Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various medical technologies, particularly in interventional radiology and cardiology. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care through advanced diagnostic evaluations and procedures. The Technologist will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Duties

- Perform ECG tests, ensure electrode placement is correct, capture clean, accurate tracings.
- Apply, monitor, and remove Holter or ambulatory ECG monitors; instruct patients in their use, ensure they understand activity restrictions, remove monitors and prepare recordings for analysis.
- Conduct stress tests (exercise ) – prepare patient, set up equipment (treadmill or bike), monitor patient during the test (heart rate, ECG strips, blood pressure, symptoms), ensure safety protocols.
- Identify any abnormal ECG/Holter strips during testing, alert physician or nurse immediately in critical situations.
- Prepare/pre‑screen patients: explain procedures, obtain medical history, ensure consent where required.
- Interpret/scan preliminary test data; prepare reports or summaries for cardiologist review.
- Maintain, clean and troubleshoot cardiac diagnostic equipment; ensure calibration and safety checks.
- Track, organize and record consumables (electrodes, leads, patches, etc.), ensure adequate inventory.
- Maintain accurate patient records, test logs, and ensure confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with clinic protocols, safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines.
- May assist with IV insertion when required (if clinic protocol calls for contrast or pharmacologic agents in stress echo/stress tests).
- Provide excellent patient care and customer service — be responsive,



compassionate, clear when explaining, calm during stress tests

Qualifications
- Diploma in Cardiology Technology / Cardiovascular Technology, or equivalent.
- Active registration or membership in good standing with relevant professional body (for example Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists – CSCT, or Ontario Society of Cardiology Technologists – OSCT).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / CPR certification current.
- Minimum 2 years of experience (or as appropriate) performing ECGs, Holter monitoring, stress testing, and related diagnostic procedures; hospital or clinic experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Experience in interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, and emergency medicine is preferred.
- Familiarity with telemetry systems and the ability to interpret vital signs effectively.
- Previous experience working in a cath lab or Level II trauma center is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
