About Us

Spalding Construction Inc. is an established residential construction subcontractor specializing in exterior decks, rooftop terraces, stairs, fencing, and railing systems throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

We work primarily with residential homebuilders on new construction projects, including townhouses, stacked townhouses, and single-family homes.

We are looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Responsibilities

- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install pressure-treated lumber, composite decking, and other construction materials.
- Construct exterior decks, stairs, landings, and related wood structures.
- Install wood and aluminum railings, privacy screens, and fencing systems.
- Install rooftop terrace decking systems, including sleeper and pedestal-supported systems.
- Operate hand tools, power saws, drills, and other carpentry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate daily work activities and provide direction to other crew members as required.
- Ensure completed installations meet project specifications and company quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work workplace and follow applicable construction site safety procedures.




- Communicate with site supervisors and company management regarding project progress and material requirements.

Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in residential carpentry, deck construction, or related construction work.
- Ability to read construction drawings and independently complete carpentry installations.
- Experience using common carpentry hand and power tools.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work safely at heights and on active construction sites.
- Working at Heights and WHMIS training required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate small crews when required.
