Sinistar is a scale-up with the largest community of hosts dedicated to disaster relocation. We connect insurance carriers, displaced families and hosts so that people can live in a furnished home rather than a hotel room while their own residence is being rebuilt. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Product Manager to join our team and take ownership of how our software evolves.
Reporting to the Head of Product, you will work with the Head of Product to set direction, then own the execution: turning high-level scope into clear requirements, keeping design and engineering unblocked, and carrying each feature through release and into adoption by our staff.
This position is well suited to a professional who combines strong delivery discipline with sound judgment, who is comfortable making day-to-day product decisions, and who works with AI as a natural part of the job.
Responsibilities
- Write product requirements documents that translate agreed scope into buildable requirements, including user stories, acceptance criteria, user flows and edge cases.
- Structure requirements so that developers, supported by AI, can act on them without guessing, with clear scope boundaries, explicit criteria, named edge cases and the necessary system context.
- Decide the scope and implementation questions that arise during delivery, and escalate only the trade-offs that affect direction, cost or timeline.
- Serve as the day-to-day product contact for engineering, design and operations.
- Prioritize the backlog within your assigned product areas against goals set with the Head of Product.
- Work with design to keep handoffs clean by reusing existing patterns, resolving states and edge cases before handoff, and specifying what engineering would otherwise have to assume.
- Use AI throughout your work, including research, first drafts, analysis and prototypes that test an idea before it reaches engineering,
and judge when its output is good enough to use.
- Identify where AI can improve the product itself and the workflows of the teams it serves.
- Bring features into adoption through release notes, product updates and staff training.
- Run feedback loops across operations, customer-facing teams, partners and users, and turn what you learn into product work.
- Keep product documentation accurate as features change.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in product execution and delivery within fast-paced environments.
- Ability to write requirements and documentation that engineers, designers and AI agents can build from without follow-up questions.
- Fluency with AI tools in a professional setting, with good judgment about where they help and where they do not.
- Enough technical literacy to follow an engineering discussion and understand the constraint behind an objection.
- Sound judgment about which decisions to make independently and which to escalate.
- A solid understanding of user needs, operational realities and business constraints.
- Strong collaboration skills across engineering, design and operations.
- Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to owning a feature through to adoption, not only through to release.
What We Offer
- A dynamic and team-oriented work environment within an ambitious, supportive and solutions-oriented team.
- Clear ownership of product areas at a growing technology company, with direct influence on how our platform develops.
- A role that makes meaningful use of AI in everyday product work.
- Meaningful work that directly helps families facing difficult circumstances.
As a technology-forward company, Sinistar uses AI tools to support its recruitment process, while all hiring decisions remain human-led. By applying for this position, candidates confirm that they have read and agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy.
