Network Innovations (NI)

Calgary

Network Innovations delivers mission-critical connectivity to customers who can't afford downtime – across satellite, cellular and terrestrial networks, in some of the world's most remote and demanding environments. We're hiring a Chief Financial Officer to lead our global finance function across four continents, multiple legal entities and a multi-currency operating environment.

Reporting to the Group President, you'll join the executive team of one of Canada's 100 largest privately owned technology firms, with real influence over strategy, capital allocation and growth across a global business. You'll turn strategy into financial plans and targets, test the assumptions behind major decisions, flag material risks early and lead a global finance team of about 26 professionals.

Our business moves quickly, and plans can change from one week to the next. The leaders who do well here take time to understand the full picture before acting, bring their teams along with a clear sense of direction, and work alongside them to see important deadlines through.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Advise the Group President and Executive Team on growth initiatives, efficiency opportunities and capital deployment
- Translate strategic objectives into annual financial plans, operating targets and KPIs, and re-plan quickly when business needs shift
- Lead budgeting, multi-year planning, rolling forecasts and executive reporting, including variance analysis and EBITDA bridges
- Maintain ASPE/GAAP/IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements across all entities and lead on-time, unqualified external audits
- Manage cash forecasting, working capital, banking relationships, credit facilities and foreign exchange risk across USD, CAD, GBP, EUR and other currencies
- Direct multi-jurisdictional tax compliance and planning, and maintain a solid internal control environment
- Lead financial due diligence, valuation and integration for acquisitions
- Build, coach and motivate a high-performing global finance team, and champion NetSuite optimization and reporting automation
- A willingness to live the company's core values: Integrity, Humility, Respect, and Determination.

Qualifications

- 15+ years of progressive financial leadership, including time as a CFO or senior divisional finance executive in a mid-sized or larger, multi-entity private company
- CPA designation and a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field

- Proven experience leading finance in a global, multi-entity, multi-currency environment with consolidated reporting across jurisdictions
- Strong command of GAAP, ASPE and IFRS, internal controls, treasury, multi-jurisdictional tax and audit oversight
- Experience as the primary contact for banks and capital partners, including EDC, and working with private-company owners
- A track record of staying effective and keeping teams focused when priorities change quickly
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- A valid passport without restrictions; domestic and international travel of about 10% is required

Nice to Have

- MBA or equivalent graduate business education
- Experience in a CAD $200M–$500M technology integrator, managed services or government contracting business
- Hands-on M&A; experience, from due diligence and deal structuring through integration
- Experience leading ERP optimization or migration; NetSuite is a strong asset

Standard office hours are 8 am to 5 pm (ABT); however, work outside of regular office hours will be required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and software.

- The ability to use hands to manage and control a keyboard and mouse.
- The ability to understand and communicate clearly with others through speaking, listening, or writing.
