Overview The Child and Youth Worker supports children and young people through engaging, individualized activities that encourage learning, participation, and personal growth. Emphasis on deescalation, self regulation and grounding techniques required. The role involves working respectfully with a team to move toward positive goals.

Responsibilities

- Build positive, respectful relationships with children and young people, encouraging participation and confidence.
- Support daily activities + life skills; and use teaching approaches to help participants develop skills and pursue individual goals.
- Adapt activities and communication to support individuals with disabilities and respond thoughtfully to changing needs.
- Share relevant observations with colleagues to help maintain consistent, coordinated support.

Skills Required: CPI training. Behaviour experience. Explicit communication, patience, and the ability to build supportive relationships and adapt teaching approaches to individual needs.

Preferred: Experience working with children and individuals with autism.

Pay: $27.00-$35.00 per hour
