Job Overview

Vertis Construction is looking for an experienced Civil Foreman to oversee day-to-day field operations and lead construction crews. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating site activities, organizing labour and equipment, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.

This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong civil construction knowledge, valuable organizational skills, and the ability to keep projects moving forward.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Supervise and lead construction crews, assigning daily tasks and responsibilities.
- Coordinate daily site activities, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Oversee site servicing, and other civil construction activities.
- Monitor work quality and ensure work meets project specifications.
- Track daily progress and communicate updates to project management.
- Identify and resolve site issues and delays as they arise.




- Ensure workers follow company safety policies and WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Maintain daily site reports, track labour and equipment, and document completed work.
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, consultants, and subcontractors.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 5 years of civil construction experience.
- Previous experience leading or supervising construction crews.
- Strong knowledge of excavation, underground utilities, and site servicing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize work, manage priorities, and keep projects on schedule.
- Valid driver's licence.

Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
