Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. Commercial Claims Field Appraiser , Telecommuting (some regions could be favored) As a Commercial Claims Field Appraiser on our Property Large Loss team, you will assess complex commercial property losses, prepare detailed reconstruction estimates, oversee repair budgets and timelines, and collaborate with contractors, adjusters and other stakeholders on claims generally exceeding $1M. Provide detailed scope of damage for commercial losses with exposures in excess of $1M Prepare tender documents and participate in the detailed analysis of bid packages, verifying accuracy, proposed timelines and scheduling Provide a detailed review of contractor invoices, supporting documentation,



and recommendations for progress payments Oversee repair process to ensure timelines and budgets are met while tracking changes to ensure budget accuracyResponsible for time and materials oversight and cost negotiations, such as equipment, hourly rates, profit/overhead and economies of scale Assist with customer escalations Work with multiple stakeholders to identify potential risks, hazards, and trends, feedback and learning opportunities Mentor and guide regional appraisers to support succession planning Leverage your expertise in a creative, continuous improvement environment to support a model of best practice operations Diploma in building appraisal and/or a relevant combination of education and experience Ten years of appraisal experience with a focus on large commercial losses Excellent knowledge of the Xactimate estimating software Extensive technical and practical knowledge of restoration of commercial construction Impeccable planning and organization skills that can establish an effective strategy Appropriate knowledge of all relevant regulatory and code requirements Travel regularly as needed Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset At Intact, our Value of respect is founded on seeing diversity as a strength.
