Program Overview:

Community Living Victoria (CLV) is a non-profit organization that has supported adults and children with intellectual disabilities in their home, and in the community for more than 70 years. CLV supports people with intellectual disabilities, together with their families, support networks and the community, by promoting full citizenship. We are looking for engaged and motivated individuals who love being part of a team and have a passion for making a difference in peoples lives. This position will be a community inclusion position supporting a single individual. The successful candidate may have prospect for additional hours. This position will require a Class 4 drivers license, We will consider applicants with a Class 5 license who are willing to upgrade their license within three months of employment.

Shifts:

Sunday 4:00pm - 11:00pm

Wednesday-Saturday 7:00pm-11:00pm

*Flexibility in hours may be required for special events

Job Duties:

- Participates in the assessment, goal setting and program planning for individuals. Documents, implements and provides input into the evaluation of the program.
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living such as feeding, lifts, transfers, hygiene, grooming and toileting. This may include the transfer of function duties such as gastrostomy feeding, tracheotomy management,



suction and bowel management.
- Participates in various client-focused activities in accordance with care plans.
- Participates In various client-focused activities in accordance with care plans.
- Recognizes, analyzes and deals with potential emergency situations such as consumers’ aggressive behavior to ensure no harm comes to the client and/o the public. Reports problems to supervisor/manager
- Administers medication to clients in accordance with established policy.
- Assists with case management by identifying potential problems and reporting any difficulties
- Provides emotional support and feedback to individuals and their families.
- Transports and assists consumers to appointments, shopping or leisure activities (company provided vehicle)
- Performs home maintenance and housekeeping duties such as laundry, sweeping, mopping floors, mowing lawns, inventory, shopping, cleaning equipment and food services.
- Maintains reports.
- Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- A valid BC Class 5 or Class 4 driver’s license.

Pay: $27.53-$31.57 per hour Expected hours: 23.0 per week
