We are looking for a friendly, positive, and compassionate Support Worker to assist an individual with participating in swimming activities twice a week, alongside another support worker.

We are seeking someone who enjoys being active, has a positive attitude, and is passionate about helping individuals participate in activities they enjoy.

About the Individual:

The individual is fun, outgoing, and loves to socialize and connect with others. She communicates nonverbally and requires assistance with mobility, transfers, and personal care. We are looking for someone who can match her positive energy while providing respectful, person-centered support that promotes comfort, dignity, safety, and enjoyment.

Position: Community Support Worker

Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. with opportunity for relief and coverage shifts

Hours: 8 hours per week

Job Responsibilities:

- Accompany the individual and another support worker to scheduled swimming sessions.
- Provide support in the pool to encourage secure and enjoyable participation.
- Assist with changing, personal care, and mobility while respecting her privacy and dignity.
- Safely operate mobility lifts and assist with transfers using appropriate equipment and techniques.




- Work collaboratively with the other support worker to ensure consistent, safe, and individualized support.
- Respect the individual’s preferences, communication methods, and personal choices.

Requirements:

- Previous experience operating mechanical mobility lifts and assisting with transfers is required.
- Experience supporting individuals who communicate non-verbally is preferred.
- Must enjoy swimming and be comfortable providing hands-on assistance in the pool.
- Friendly, patient, positive, and outgoing personality.
- Ability to provide respectful personal care and mobility assistance.
- Valid criminal record check.
- Current First Aid certification.

Pay: $22.00 per hour
