Dental Receptionist: Full time
2nd Avenue Dental and Prairie Pines Dental Centre
Prince Albert, Saskatchewan | $17.00–$18.00 per hour
Build new skills. Help people feel welcome. Make a difference in your community.
A friendly greeting and a well-organized appointment can make a real difference to someone’s day, especially when they are nervous, in pain or travelling a long distance for care.
Our Prince Albert team is growing, and we are looking for a receptionist to work across 2nd Avenue Dental and Prairie Pines Dental Centre, approximately eight minutes apart.
NO dental experience is required. We provide full, paid training. Experience in customer service, reception or dentistry is welcome, but it is not essential.
What you will do
- Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable.
- Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and book and confirm appointments.
- Maintain accurate patient records, appointment details and insurance or benefit coverage information.
- Support the dental team with day-to-day reception and administrative tasks.
- Handle personal and health information carefully and confidentially.
- Direct clinical questions and concerns to the appropriate dental team member.
What will help you succeed
- Clear, respectful communication and a willingness to help others.
- Attention to detail and the ability to organize competing tasks.
- A patient, courteous approach when assisting someone who is anxious, upset or in pain.
- Willingness to learn our booking software, office procedures and dental terminology.
- The ability to work cooperatively, ask questions and follow through on tasks.
We value skills developed through employment, education, volunteering and community involvement.
Hours and work locations
This is a full-time, in-person position with scheduled shifts at both clinics. Our clinics operate seven days a week between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., and this position includes evening and weekend shifts.
We will discuss the expected weekly hours, shift pattern and location arrangements during the hiring process. Schedules and breaks will be provided in accordance with applicable employment standards.
A driver’s licence is not required for the receptionist position.
Any employer-required travel between clinics during the workday will be treated as paid work time.
What we offer
- A starting wage of $17.00–$18.00 per hour, based on relevant skills and experience.
- Full, paid training and support as you learn.
- Dental care.
- Extended health coverage, including physiotherapy, chiropractic care, vision care and prescription drug coverage.
- Life insurance.
- Paid sick days.
- A uniform allowance.
- Potential eligibility for additional compensation based on performance following the probationary period, subject to the applicable written criteria and approval by the location director.
Benefit eligibility, coverage limits, any waiting periods and employee contributions will be explained before you accept an offer. Paid sick days and the uniform allowance are provided under the applicable workplace policies. Any performance compensation arrangements will be explained in writing and are not a guaranteed increase to the advertised hourly wage.
Vacation, public holiday and overtime entitlements will be provided in accordance with applicable law.
An optional opportunity to grow into community outreach
Many of our patients travel from northern Saskatchewan, including First Nations and Métis communities. We would like to explore a future outreach opportunity that helps strengthen these relationships and supports access to dental care.
Once familiar with the practice, an interested team member could help share general oral health information approved by our dental team and connect communities with information about our clinics.
Outreach is not a requirement of this receptionist position. Choosing not to participate will not affect your eligibility for the receptionist position or your continued employment in that role.
Any future opportunity would be voluntary and agreed upon separately in writing, including duties, training, compensation, hours, travel arrangements, safety and expenses.
For someone interested in that future opportunity, useful assets could include:
- Knowledge of First Nations and Métis cultures, communities and protocols in northern Saskatchewan.
- Experience working with or within Indigenous communities.
- The ability to speak or understand Cree, Dene or Michif.
- An interest in community engagement and travel.
These are assets for the potential outreach opportunity, not qualifications required for reception. If agreed outreach duties include driving, an appropriate driver’s licence valid for driving in Saskatchewan would be required, with accommodation needs considered. A respectful and inclusive workplace
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and encourage First Nations, Métis and Inuit candidates to apply. Hiring decisions will be based on the skills and abilities relevant to the receptionist position.
Accommodation is available during the application and hiring process and throughout employment, in accordance with applicable human rights legislation.
We are committed to a respectful workplace free from discrimination, harassment and violence. We maintain a written harassment prevention policy, take concerns seriously, and address them promptly and fairly, including investigation and corrective action where required. Retaliation for raising a concern or participating in an investigation is not tolerated.
If you enjoy helping people and are ready to learn, we encourage you to apply, even if dentistry is new to you.
Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
Benefits
- Extended health care
- On-site parking
