Our client is a continually growing research-based organization in Prince Edward Island, recognized for their work and continued development. As the organization enters its next phase of growth, they are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director of Finance to join their senior leadership team.

In this strategic role, the Director of Finance will contribute to executive decision-making, build financial capacity, and help guide the organization's long-term sustainability as its operations and reach continue to expand. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial leadership, analytical expertise, and sound operational insight, with an emphasis on supporting organizational growth, commercialization initiatives, and pricing strategies for research services.

Salary: $120,000 per year

Key Responsibilities of the Job:

- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and annual financial planning processes
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on strategic and operational decision-making
- Develop financial models, scenario analysis, and project costing
- Oversee cash flow, liquidity, working capital, and treasury management
- Manage banking relationships and support financing strategies and investor reporting
- Present financial results and insights to the Board of Directors
- Develop and maintain pricing models
- Support proposal development with financial analysis and revenue projections
- Oversee procurement and inventory management
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and controls
- Lead audit processes and liaise with external auditors
- Ensure compliance with tax, reporting, and regulatory requirements
- Optimize ERP and financial systems and improve financial reporting tools

Experience & Attributes for Success:

- CPA designation with minimum 5 years post-designation experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5 years of progressive finance leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance, accounting standards, audit, and tax compliance




- Experience with pricing models in contract services, research, manufacturing, or project-based environments
- Experience in regulated, grant-funded, or audit-intensive environments considered an asset
- Solid financial modelling and analytical skills with ability to communicate insights clearly
- Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to manage complexity and competing priorities
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills
- Results-driven with a continuous improvement mindset
