Support disability management and workplace accommodation at York Region in Newmarket, using rehabilitation case management and return-to-work expertise. Hybrid work opportunities may apply. As a temporary full-time Abilities Management Specialist, you will advise employees and management on disability, accommodation, and return-to-work programs.

The assignment is approximately 16 months, reporting to the Lead, Employee Health. Your work includes WSIB, short-term disability, and long-term disability claims, medical information interpretation, and health surveillance coordination.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage disability claims and early, safe return-to-work programs
- Support workplace accommodation and modified-work planning
- Interpret medical information and functional restrictions




- Coordinate pre-placement assessments and health surveillance programs
- Advise employees and management on disability matters Requirements:
- University degree or approved equivalent education and experience
- Applicable disability management, rehabilitation, or occupational health designation
- Minimum three years rehabilitation or case management experience
- Experience supporting accommodations in a unionized setting
