Position Overview

We are seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic Educational Assistant who has a background and experience working with children with learning challenges. The successful candidate will work alongside classroom teachers to support students academically, socially, and behaviourally.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide individual and small-group support to students with learning challenges.
- Assist teachers in implementing individualized learning programs and IEP goals.
- Support students with academic tasks, classroom routines, and transitions.
- Reinforce positive behaviour, social skills, and self-regulation strategies.
- Encourage student independence and confidence.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet individual student needs.

Qualifications

- Previous experience working with children with learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or other learning challenges is required.
- A background in special education,



child development, educational assistance, or a related field is preferred.
- Understanding of positive behaviour management and strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, compassionate, flexible, and able to adapt to individual student needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers.
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

Pay: $24.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.5 per week
