ELITE HOCKEY TRAINER WANTED
Future Champs Fitness – Mississauga, ON (Cawthra & Queensway)
Part-Time | $25–$30 per 45-Minute Class
Opening December 2026
YOU'VE PLAYED THE GAME. NOW HELP DEVELOP THE NEXT GENERATION.
We're looking for one exceptional individual with a strong hockey background, a passion for athletic development, and the personality to inspire the next generation of athletes.
Ideally, you've played hockey at a high competitive level. You understand the discipline, dedication, conditioning, and mental toughness it takes to succeed in the sport.
Maybe you've played junior hockey, collegiate hockey, professionally, or at another high competitive level. Maybe you've transitioned into coaching, strength and conditioning, or athletic development.
If hockey has been a major part of your life, we want to hear from you.
WHO WE ARE
Future Champs Fitness is a brand-new children's fitness and athletic development facility opening in Mississauga in December 2026.
We specialize in helping children ages 2.5–15 develop strength, speed, agility, coordination, confidence, and resilience through structured, high-energy fitness programs.
Our mission goes beyond physical fitness. We're developing stronger athletes, stronger minds, and more confident kids.
And now, we're looking for ONE exceptional hockey trainer to bring specialized hockey-inspired athletic development to our team.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As our Hockey Athletic Development Trainer, you'll help young athletes build the physical foundations that translate into better performance on the ice.
This is off-ice athletic development, not on-ice hockey instruction.
You'll lead structured, engaging, 45-minute training sessions focused on:
- Explosive speed and acceleration — Developing quick first steps and powerful movement
- Agility and change of direction — Improving reaction time, coordination, and body control
- Strength and conditioning — Building age-appropriate strength, endurance, and athletic ability
- Balance and stability — Developing the foundation for better skating mechanics and control
- Core strength and power — Improving overall athletic performance
- Mental toughness and confidence — Teaching discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic
You'll also have opportunities to contribute ideas and help shape our hockey-specific off-ice training programs.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Hockey experience is essential. High-level competitive playing experience is strongly preferred.
Our ideal candidate has
- A strong hockey playing background, preferably at the junior, collegiate, professional, or another high competitive level
- A solid understanding of hockey-specific fitness, conditioning, and athletic development
- Experience coaching or training hockey players (a major asset)
- Knowledge of strength training, speed development, agility, and proper movement mechanics
- The ability to connect with, motivate, and inspire young athletes
- A confident, energetic, and positive coaching personality
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- A professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
You don't necessarily need years of formal coaching experience. If you've competed at a high level, understand the game, know how to train, and have the personality to become an outstanding youth coach, we're interested.
We can teach you our programming and coaching systems.
What we can't teach is genuine passion, leadership, and the ability to inspire.
REQUIREMENTS
Selected candidates must have or be willing to obtain the following before beginning work:
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C with AED certification
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Strong knowledge of safe exercise technique
- Ability to demonstrate and lead physical training sessions
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism
Fitness certifications, strength and conditioning credentials,
kinesiology education, and previous youth coaching experience are considered assets. In-house training and certification will be provided to the successful candidate.
COMPENSATION & OPPORTUNITIES
$25–$30 per 45-minute class, depending on experience and qualifications.
Additional opportunities may include
- One-on-one hockey-specific off-ice training
- Small-group athletic development sessions
- Specialized hockey conditioning programs
- Advanced youth athletic training
- Opportunities for increased responsibilities as our facility grows
WHY FUTURE CHAMPS FITNESS? We're building something different.
This isn't about running generic workouts or simply counting repetitions.
It's about taking everything you've learned through hockey — the discipline, commitment, leadership, teamwork, and resilience — and using that experience to help young athletes reach their potential.
You'll be joining the founding coaching team of a brand-new fitness facility, with the opportunity to contribute to our programming and make a lasting impact.
We're not hiring five hockey trainers. We're looking for ONE exceptional person who fits our vision.
Someone who takes pride in coaching. Someone who brings energy into every session. Someone who understands that developing a young athlete is about much more than developing their physical abilities.
THINK YOU'RE THE ONE? PROVE IT.
We want to hear your story.
Please submit your resume and a short introduction outlining:
- Your hockey background: Where did you play, and at what level?
- Your coaching or training experience: Have you worked with young athletes or hockey players?
- Your fitness knowledge: What experience do you have with strength, conditioning, speed, or athletic development?
- Why you? Tell us why you believe you're the ONE we're looking for.
