As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive estimates for millwork and related finishing packages.

You will review project drawings and specifications, complete quantity takeoffs, determine material and labour requirements, obtain supplier pricing, identify project risks, and develop quotations that accurately reflect the scope of work.

You will work closely with our sales, project management, design, production, purchasing, and installation teams to ensure estimates are not only competitive, but also realistic and executable.

The successful candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of estimates from initial review through quotation and, when required, supporting the project handoff to the team responsible for execution.

You will also play an important role in identifying opportunities to improve estimating accuracy, pricing, processes, and profitability.

Essential Functions

- Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for millwork, trim, mouldings, interior doors, cabinetry, closets, hardware, and related products.
- Review architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, specifications, tender documents, and other project information.
- Complete detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings and project documents.
- Calculate material quantities, labour requirements, installation requirements, waste factors, and other project costs.
- Determine appropriate materials, products, finishes, hardware, and construction methods based on project requirements.
- Price standard, custom, and non-standard millwork components.
- Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, omissions, and potential estimating risks.
- Review project dimensions and details to determine their impact on cost and production.
- Ensure estimates accurately reflect the intended scope of work.
- Maintain clear documentation of pricing assumptions, exclusions, allowances, and clarifications.




- Complete estimates within established deadlines and tender timelines.
- Review completed estimates for accuracy before submitting quotations.

Drawings, Specifications & Scope Review
- Read and interpret architectural and construction drawings with confidence.
- Review project specifications and identify requirements that may affect materials, manufacturing, finishing, delivery, or installation.
- Compare drawings, specifications, schedules, and revisions to identify inconsistencies or conflicts.
- Track drawing revisions and determine their impact on quantities, pricing, and scope.
- Identify missing information and prepare transparent questions or requests for clarification.
- Develop a thorough understanding of project scope before pricing work.
- Recognize how millwork interfaces with other trades and construction activities.
- Identify constructability, installation, and site-condition considerations that could affect project costs.

Material & Supplier Pricing
- Obtain current pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Request and evaluate supplier quotations.
- Compare pricing, lead times, specifications, and availability when selecting materials or services.
- Maintain accurate records of supplier pricing and project-specific costs.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of Riverside's products, suppliers, materials, finishes, hardware, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and suitable alternatives where appropriate.
- Account for material availability, market changes, freight, waste, labour, and other factors that may influence project cost.





Quotations & Tender Submissions
- Prepare clear, accurate, and professional quotations for builders, contractors, developers, and other customers.
- Ensure quotations clearly communicate scope, pricing, exclusions, assumptions, allowances, and relevant conditions.
- Review tender documents and determine all requirements necessary for a - complete submission.
- Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to obtain information required for competitive bids.
- Submit quotations and tender responses within required deadlines.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, quotations, revisions, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
- Follow up on quotations as required and assist the sales team with estimating-related questions.

Project Handoff & Collaboration Estimating is more than producing a number. A good estimate provides the foundation for a successful project.

Financial & Commercial Awareness An effective estimator understands that accuracy is about more than getting quantities right.

You will be expected to develop a strong understanding of the commercial side of estimating, including:

- Material costs.
- Labour costs.
- Installation costs.
- Subcontractor costs.
- Freight and delivery.
- Waste and material utilization.
- Project-specific requirements.
- Overhead considerations.
- Markups and margins.
- Allowances and contingencies.
- Change and revision impacts.
- Project risk.
- You will use sound judgment when evaluating project information and escalating - significant pricing or scope concerns.

The goal is not simply to produce the lowest number. The goal is to produce a competitive, accurate, and profitable estimate that Riverside can successfully deliver. Pay: $58,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
