About the Role The Niagara Falls Convention Centre is seeking a hands-on and dependable Event Setup Supervisor to join our Building Operations team.

Reporting to the Senior Building Engineer, the Event Setup Supervisor oversees the day-to-day delivery of event setup operations and works alongside the Event Setup team to ensure meeting rooms, ballrooms, exhibit halls and other event spaces are configured accurately, safely and on schedule.

This is a hands-on supervisory role suited to someone who enjoys leading a team, working in a fast-paced event workplace, and seeing an event space come together from setup through teardown.

What You’ll Do

- Supervise and work alongside Event Setup Associates during event setups, room conversions, and teardowns.
- Organize and assign daily work based on event schedules, floor plans, and operational priorities.
- Review event resumes, room diagrams, and setup requirements to ensure spaces are configured accurately.
- Inspect completed event spaces to ensure they are safe, presentable, and ready for turnover.
- Coordinate timely room conversions between events.
- Respond to last-minute changes, client requirements and changing operational priorities.
- Coordinate closely with Event Managers, Housekeeping, Maintenance & Engineering, contractors, and other departments.
- Oversee the safe movement, handling, stacking and storage of tables, chairs, and other event equipment.
- Identify damaged, missing, or unsafe equipment and report concerns appropriately.
- Assist with the training and onboarding of Event Setup Associates.
- Promote and reinforce safe work practices and an organized work environment.
- Lead by example and contribute to a professional, collaborative, and service-focused team.

What We’re Looking For

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Approximately 2–4 years of experience in event setup, convention services, hospitality operations, banquet operations, facility operations, or a related environment.




- Previous lead-hand or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Experience in a convention centre, hotel, conference facility, arena, or other high-volume event environment is an asset.
- Ability to read and accurately execute event resumes, floor plans, and room diagrams.
- Strong organizational, communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and adapt quickly to changing event requirements.
- A hands-on leadership style with the ability to provide clear direction while working alongside the team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and service.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with event setups and equipment movement.

Work Schedule

Events don't always happen Monday to Friday. The successful candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule based on event and operational requirements, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as required.

Pay: $50,750.00-$61,200.00 per year
