Position overviewThe Kamloops Food Bank is seeking an experienced operational leader to oversee the organization's warehouse, transportation, logistics, food recovery, and distribution functions. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Director of Warehouse Operations is responsible for operational planning, team leadership, performance oversight, financial stewardship, food safety, occupational health and safety, and the effective use of facilities and resources. The Director ensures that operational activities support the organization's mission, strategic priorities, and commitment to providing safe, reliable, and dignified food distribution to individuals and community partners. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, strong leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to lead teams and manage complex logistics in a rapid-paced, community-focused environment.



What you'll bringWe are looking for a leader who combines operational expertise with a team-oriented, community-minded approach. Significant supervisory or management experience (8+ years) in operations, warehousing, logistics, transportation, or distribution. The ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and make sound operational decisions. A practical approach to safety, quality assurance, resource management, and continuous improvement. The ability to build productive relationships with staff, volunteers, community partners, and senior leadership. Qualifications and leadership competenciesExperienceThe successful candidate will have significant supervisory and management experience (8+ years) in warehousing, logistics, transportation, distribution, or a related operational field. Manage competing priorities in a quick-paced environment. Support workplace safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. Manage budgets, resources, and operational performance. Ability to assess risks, resolve operational challenges, and identify practical improvements. Ability to manage budgets and resources responsibly. Continuous improvement: Ability to monitor performance and strengthen operational effectiveness. Working conditionsThe position is based primarily in office at the Kamloops Food Bank facility, with off-site work as required.
