Skilled Hands. Quality Craftsmanship. Exceptional Results.

Sauna Cedar is looking for experienced carpenters and woodworkers who take pride in building something exceptional.

We specialize in custom-built indoor and outdoor cedar saunas, handcrafted directly on our customers' properties throughout the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding communities.

Our approach is different from traditional sauna installation. We construct our saunas on-site, measuring, cutting, shaping, and fitting individual wood components to create beautifully finished structures.

We are seeking reliable, experienced tradespeople who understand woodworking and construction and have the skills, tools, and craftsmanship necessary to deliver outstanding results.

This is not an entry-level labour position. We are looking for people who know how to build.

The Opportunity

This is a project-based, independent contractor opportunity offering $500 to $2,000 per completed sauna, depending on the size and scope of the project.

We are looking to establish ongoing working relationships with skilled tradespeople interested in taking on custom sauna construction projects.

Whether your background is in residential carpentry, custom woodworking, finish carpentry, deck construction, cabin building, or similar trades, your experience may be an excellent fit.

Previous sauna-building experience is an asset but is not required. Solid woodworking and carpentry experience is essential.

Your Responsibilities

- Build custom indoor and outdoor cedar saunas directly at customer locations.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install wood components with precision.
- Construct sauna floors, walls, roofs, benches, doors, and finishing details.

- Work confidently with tongue-and-groove wood, dimensional lumber, and cedar materials.
- Interpret dimensions, layouts, drawings, and project specifications.
- Ensure structures are level, square, secure, and professionally finished.
- Operate woodworking and construction tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites.
- Deliver workmanship that meets Sauna Cedar's quality standards.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers and our team.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

- Proven hands-on experience in carpentry, woodworking, or wood construction.
- Strong knowledge of measuring, cutting, fitting, joining, and finishing wood.
- Ability to work independently and solve practical construction challenges.
- Experience using professional woodworking and power tools.
- Ownership of your own woodworking tools and equipment.
- A valid driver's licence and reliable personal vehicle.
- Ability to travel to customer locations throughout our service areas.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
- Dependability, professionalism, and a commitment to completing projects properly.

Additional experience that would be valuable:

- Finish carpentry and detailed trim work.
- Building decks, sheds, cabins, pergolas, or other wooden structures.
- Installing tongue-and-groove wood paneling.
- Residential framing and roof construction.
- Custom cabinetry, benches, and interior wood finishing.
- Previous sauna construction experience.

Compensation & Benefits of This Opportunity

Earn $500–$2,000 for every completed sauna.

- Competitive project-based compensation.

- Payment determined by sauna size and project scope, agreed upon before work begins.
- Vehicle mileage reimbursement for approved project travel.
- Opportunity for ongoing projects as work becomes available.
- Independent contractor arrangement.
- Opportunity to apply and showcase your craftsmanship.
- Work on a variety of custom indoor and outdoor sauna designs.
- Build a long-term professional relationship with a company focused on quality woodworking.

Who We're Looking For

We are especially interested in experienced carpenters, cabinetmakers, finish carpenters, and independent woodworkers who already own their tools and have the confidence to take a woodworking project from start to finish.

We value craftsmanship over job titles.

You don't need to have built a sauna before. If you understand wood construction, can work accurately from measurements, and know how to deliver a beautiful finished product, we want to hear from you.

If you enjoy working with wood, appreciate quality craftsmanship, and would rather build something exceptional than perform repetitive installation work, this opportunity could be an excellent fit.

How to Apply

Please submit your application through Indeed and include:

- A brief description of your carpentry or woodworking experience.
- The types of construction or woodworking projects you have completed.
- Your general location and areas where you are available to work.
- Confirmation that you have your own woodworking tools and reliable vehicle.
- Photos of previous woodworking or carpentry projects, if available.

We are looking for skilled, dependable contractors who can represent Sauna Cedar professionally and consistently deliver exceptional workmanship.
