Experienced Family Support Worker / Educational Assistant Needed – Winnipeg

$26-28/hour | Monday–Friday, approximately 4–8 PM

We are a family with two young children seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced support worker to provide a combination of specialized childcare, developmental support, and household assistance.

Our ideal candidate has experience as an Educational Assistant, Community Support Worker, Child and Youth Care Worker, or in a similar professional role.

Responsibilities include

Engaging our children in meaningful play, educational activities, and OT exercises recommended by their therapists.

Supporting children with ADHD, auditory processing disorder (APD), and individual developmental needs.

Assisting with meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and household organization.

Caring for our family pets, including guinea pigs, a rabbit, and a dog.

Assisting with evening routines and helping maintain a calm, organized household.

Providing practical, compassionate support to a parent living with the long-term effects of multiple traumatic brain injuries.

Qualifications

Experience working with neurodivergent children is strongly preferred.



Candidates must be comfortable supporting children with life-threatening allergies and asthma, following emergency action plans, and responding appropriately to medical emergencies.

We are particularly interested in someone who understands TBI-related cognitive fatigue, sensory sensitivities, and physical limitations.

The successful candidate will be patient, nurturing, dependable, organized, and capable of working independently. The ability to recognize what needs to be done and take initiative without constant direction is especially key.

Current First Aid/CPR, satisfactory background and child abuse registry checks, and excellent references are required. Training in anaphylaxis management is essential.
