About Us

Art Village Visual Art School is looking for a passionate and reliable Part-Time Fine Arts Instructor to join our growing team!

We provide creative art education to children and youth through engaging, hands-on visual arts programs. Our goal is to encourage creativity, build artistic skills, and help students develop confidence through art.

The successful candidate will primarily teach at our South Surrey location, with occasional shifts at our Langley location.

Responsibilities

- Teach fine arts classes to elementary and middle school-aged students.
- Guide students through drawing, painting, mixed media, crafts, and other creative projects.
- Follow our established curriculum and lesson plans (training and curriculum will be provided).
- Create a positive, welcoming, and engaging classroom workplace.
- Support students with different skill levels, interests, and creative approaches.
- Prepare and organize art materials before and after classes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized teaching environment.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and the studio team.

Qualifications

- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in an educational, instructional, or childcare setting.




- Educational background or relevant experience in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Design, or a related field.
- Strong artistic skills and a good understanding of various art mediums and techniques.
- A genuine passion for working with children and encouraging their creativity.
- Organized, responsible, and able to work independently.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Reliable transportation, as occasional travel between our South Surrey and Langley locations may be required.
- A portfolio of your own artwork or examples of student work you have taught or guided.
- Must be willing to complete and pass a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check before employment.
