We are currently recruiting for an experienced swing shift Flexo Press Operator responsible for the efficient operation of a narrow-web flexographic press while printing labels to specification and ensuring that quality is maintained in a consistent manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Complete make ready in accordance with the job ticket and product specs. Ensure correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and aniloxes are utilized
- Set and maintain print registration, color matching, varnishes, and coatings
- Mixes solutions such as ink and solvents
- Identify print problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Enters and retrieves information on computer-aided equipment
- Analyze product quality
- Perform preventative maintenance on the press such as lubrication, replacement of small parts, cleaning, replacing and setting roller adjustments and other moving parts as required.
- Always maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all health and safety regulations and requirements of Labels Unlimited Food Safety Program
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a press operator
- Mechanical dexterity, math and measuring skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced production workplace
- Computer proficiency is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:
- Ability to lift press rolls (approx 50lbs)
- Frequent walking and standing for extended periods of time
- Exposure to moderate noise and odors
