About The Position The FOH/ Barista / Pastry Team Member is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the store while providing a consistently welcoming, efficient, and high-quality experience for guests. The role includes assisting guests, serving beverages and food, kitchen prep work, morning pastry bake, assisting guests, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and supporting the store team with operational tasks as required.

The Team Member is expected to work collaboratively with other team members and management, follow company standards and procedures, and contribute to a positive, professional, and respectful work environment.

General Responsibilities and Expected Schedule

- The successful candidate understands that the role begins at 4 shifts a week, totalling 26-30 hours with the likelihood to continue in a full-time position (30+ hours) over at least 4 shifts per week. Must be available Friday-Monday, open shifts begin as early as 5:30 am & closing shifts go as late as 6:30pm
- Be responsible for accurate and complete opening and closing procedures, for both FOH and BOH shifts.
- Front of House duties include:
- Provide exceptional customer service and foster a warm, welcoming,



and inclusive environment for all Guests.
- Support all aspects of Dear Grain’s store operations, including food, pastry, beverages, and merchandising.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system and follow all cash-handling procedures.
- In the role of Barista: prepare a variety of hot & cold espresso- based beverages in accordance with Dear Grain’s quality and presentation standards.
- Back of House/Pastry duties include:
- Support the Pastry Lead by: prepping ingredients, managing incoming product, tracking and assuring accurate inventory, packaging product, prepping product for delivery, maintaining good recordkeeping.
- Complete scheduled baking responsibilities, including: scones, cookies, croissants, cakes, and other morning bakes once or more/week.
