Convergence Engineering
Arnprior
We’re designing and building advanced technology for rugged applications in defense, space, aviation and mobility — and we’re doing it with speed, creativity, and real engineering depth. If you’re an engineer who loves solving hard physics problems, shipping real hardware, and seeing your work operate in the real world, you’ll fit right in. Join a focused, fun team where your ideas matter and your designs don’t just sit in simulations — they deploy.
If you are looking for your next challenge with a fast growing, mission-driven team where collaboration is real, hierarchy is minimal, and your work goes from whiteboard to field, apply today.
Our engineers work alongside a great team of mechanical, software, and hardware developers creating works class electronics for a wide range of markets, including Military/Avionics, and Electrical vehicles/robotics. And we work in a spectacular, 10,000-square-foot historic building with a mid-century modern decor in the picturesque heritage setting of Arnprior (30 minutes from Ottawa). It is a truly unique place.
What you’ll do
- Deploy sensors in the lab and outdoors, record data, and check that it is complete and clean.
- Sift through recordings for real events, background noise and difficult cases. Label them and keep track of where each one came from.
- Write C/C++ firmware for microcontroller-based sensor nodes (STM32 and similar),
and Python tools to automate the repetitive parts.
- Work with our technical lead to train and test detection models, and figure out why a detection was missed or false.
- Compare field results with lab results, and turn the differences into the next round of improvements.
You’ll fit well if you
- understand how common sensors work, from what they physically measure to how the signal ends up as numbers, and are comfortable getting hardware to work outside the lab;
- have programmed microcontrollers in C or C++ (STM32, Arduino or similar), write working Python, and use Git;• have trained at least one model (school or personal projects count), know where it can fool you, and can walk us through it in a face-to-face interview;
Nice to have: signal processing, embedded Linux, wireless or networked sensors, field-testing experience. In particular, you would be a good fit if you have 1-3 years of experience in mechatronics engineering. Software development, AI/Edge compute and sensor integration.
Military/Avionic/Automotive Design experience preferred
