Position Overview

dormakaba is seeking an experienced Software Developer based in Montreal, specializing in backend development with deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript. The Software developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable APIs and cloud-native applications, delivering high-quality, reliable, and secure backend systems to drive technical excellence and innovation.

Total Compensation Range:

$90,000 - $120,000 annually

What You Will Do

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and TypeScript, ensuring security, reliability, and maintainability
- Architect and deliver cloud-native applications using AWS, GCP, or Azure, leveraging serverless technologies, containerization, and managed cloud services
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and deployment workflows to streamline software delivery and ensure quality
- Integrate and manage NoSQL databases, optimize system performance and cloud costs, and ensure API security, observability, scalability, and compliance with industry best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, Product, and Engineering, to deliver end-to-end solutions while promoting technical excellence and continuous improvement

What we require

- 8+ years of backend development experience, including 5+ years with Node.js and strong TypeScript expertise
- Proven experience designing and scaling APIs for enterprise or high-traffic systems
- Advanced knowledge of cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including compute, storage, and networking,



with experience using NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB
- Robust expertise in microservices, event-driven systems, and distributed architectures, with a deep understanding of API security, including OAuth2, JWT, SSO, rate limiting, and encryption
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)

What we prefer

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French preferred as the incumbent must work with a global multidisciplinary team
