Gusto, Dolce's sister restaurant, is growing! We're moving to full table service and are looking for a skilled, dependable Cook to join our kitchen full-time. If you love cooking good food with care and want to be part of a small, close-knit team, we'd love to meet you.

You'll prepare and plate menu items, keep the line running smoothly during service, and help keep up the quality and presentation our guests expect from Gusto.

What you'll do

- Prepare and cook menu items to Gusto's recipes, portion and presentation standards.
- Work the line during table service and keep tickets moving with front-of-house.
- Do daily prep: chopping, sauces, portioning and setting up your station.
- Check food quality, temperatures and freshness throughout service.
- Follow proper food-storage, labelling and FIFO rotation procedures.
- Keep the kitchen, equipment and work surfaces clean and sanitized.
- Help receive deliveries and restock ingredients and supplies.
- Help with opening and closing kitchen duties.
- Work as a team during busy services.

What we're looking for




- Previous line cook or restaurant kitchen experience is preferred.
- Comfortable working a busy line in a full-service restaurant.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organized and calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, food safety and presentation.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset.
- Must be available full time, Tuesday to Sunday, including weekends and holidays as required. (Gusto is closed Mondays.)

Physical requirements
- Able to stand and walk for long periods.
- Able to bend, reach and do repetitive tasks.
- Able to safely lift and carry supplies up to about 25 lbs.
