Summary

Green's Meat Market & Abattoir is a Canadian, family-owned meat processing plant and retail market that has been serving Wingham and surrounding communities for over 55 years. We are hiring a meat wrapper to work full-time alongside our butchers and meat cutters. Production is fast paced, so our ideal candidate would have some knowledge of standard cuts of meat/meat processing, but we are willing to teach and train the right candidate!

Responsibilities

- Wrap, package and label custom cuts of beef, pork & lamb.
- Follow custom cutting instruction cards, and keep meat orders separate and organized.
- Box, wrap, and vacuum-seal meat products for custom orders and retail production.
- May be required to assist with customer service in the retail store. Must be able to provide a friendly and knowledgable shopping experience for customers.




- May be required to participate in merchandising/restocking fresh and frozen products in the retail store.
- Must maintain a secure and clean workspace.

Working Conditions:

- Must be able to work in refrigerated conditions and stand for entire shift.
- Must be able to lift/carry moderately heavy loads (30-60lbs).
- Must be able to keep up in a fast paced & productive work environment.

Qualifications

- Experience working in a butcher shop or grocery store meat department preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of meat processing and standard cuts of meat.
- Knowledge of safe food handling.
- Safety minded, quality oriented, and an eagerness to learn and be a part of a team.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
