Role Description The Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter Division Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB. This position is responsible for leading sprinkler fitting crews, installing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Day-to-day tasks include planning and coordinating site work, reviewing drawings and specifications, overseeing material ordering and inventory, and ensuring quality workmanship and compliance on all projects. The Division Lead will mentor apprentices and team members, support troubleshooting and repairs, prepare job reports, and communicate with project managers, customers, and inspectors. The role also involves promoting safe work practices, participating in site meetings,



and contributing to continuous improvement of division operations. Qualifications
• Journeyperson Sprinkler Fitter certification or Red Seal equivalent, with strong knowledge of relevant codes (e.g., NFPA, local building and fire codes).
• Hands-on experience installing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler and suppression systems in commercial or industrial settings.
• Leadership and team supervision experience, including mentoring apprentices, coordinating crews, and managing job site activities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications, and to collaborate effectively with project managers and other trades.
• Strong safety awareness, familiarity with OH&S; regulations, and a track record of maintaining secure work practices on job sites.
• Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to provide clear updates, reports, and explanations to clients and colleagues.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the region as required; ability to work in varying site conditions and perform physical tasks.
• Experience in fire protection or security system integration is an asset; additional certifications (e.g., safety training, first aid, confined space) are beneficial.
