Tidewater has an immediate opening for a Capital Accountant reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting. This is a full-time position based in Calgary. This role is to ensure proper cost treatment and management of capital assets within the organization through accurate administration of the project ledger. The position will participate in other accounting and internal control activities at the direction of management. Summary of

Responsibilities:
• Project ledger setup, maintenance, and tracking within AFE Navigator
• Preparation of memos ensuring project expenditures are appropriately capitalized
• Tracking and review of all project related invoices and preparation of monthly journal entries for acquisitions and dispositions
• Preparation of monthly project accruals
• Coordination and distribution of capital committee documents
• Respond to inquiries from various groups
• Preparation of monthly journal entries and supporting schedules for depreciation of assets
• Assisting in determining and implementing formal internal reporting requirements as related to capital expenditures
• Total AFE spend to budget analysis
• Completion of certain month end reconciliations
• Other tasks, as required

Qualifications:
Education and

Experience:




• Successful completion of an undergraduate degree (Accounting preferred)
• Minimum 5 years working experience in an accounting function
• Strong accounting knowledge related to fixed assets, accruals and accounts payable
• Working experience with Qbyte, Open Invoice and AFE Navigator is an asset Skills and Knowledge:
• Attention to detail and time management skills
• Solid Microsoft Excel skills
• Solid oral and written communication skills
• Ability to solve problems and manage workflow
