We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Application Developer – Power Pages Migration Specialist to lead the modernization of legacy portal infrastructure for the Government of Alberta.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Ad Studio Portals (v8), Microsoft Power Apps Portals, Microsoft Power Pages, Dataverse, Enhanced Data Models, Liquid templates, JavaScript, and CSS3. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing, migrating, and optimizing legacy portal components, leveraging Microsoft Copilot and other enterprise AI development tools to accelerate code translation, automate schema mapping, improve system integrations, and ensure a smooth migration to modern Microsoft Power Pages.

Must Have
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Copilot for Liquid translation, JavaScript generation, and troubleshooting – 1 year.
- Experience developing and migrating Ad Studio Portals (v8) to Power Apps Portals and Microsoft Power Pages – 3 years.
- Experience developing Ad Studio Portals (v8), Power Apps Portals, and Microsoft Power Pages – 3 years.
- Experience migrating standard portal data models to Enhanced Data Models using Power Platform – 3 years.

Nice to Have
- Experience integrating Power Pages with external systems, including payment processing, authentication providers, and SharePoint – 3 years.
- Experience mapping legacy security roles to Dataverse Table Permissions and Web Roles in Power Pages – 3 years.
- Expertise in Liquid syntax, custom JavaScript, HTML5, custom logic, and CSS3 refactoring within portal templates – 3 years.





Description Scope The province requires 2 Full Stack Developers / Power Pages Migration Specialists to lead the modernization of its legacy portal infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Ad Studio Portals and deep expertise in transitioning these systems to up-to-date Microsoft Power Pages, leveraging Dataverse and the Enhanced Data Model.

Team members will be responsible for analysing, migrating, and optimizing entity forms, Liquid templates, web files, and custom JavaScript code to the new platform, utilizing enterprise AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot to accelerate code translation, automate schema mapping, and enhance efficiency across the migration lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Migration Strategy & Technical Discovery
- Analyse legacy Ad Studio portal architecture.
- Identify custom configurations (ad_ entities).
- Contribute to field research.
- Lead technical discovery.
- Deliver solution design artifacts.
- AI-Accelerated Code & Logic Conversion
- Leverage enterprise AI development tools, including Microsoft Copilot (Copilot for Power Pages and GitHub Copilot), to translate legacy .NET/C# business logic into Liquid Web Templates.
- Generate custom JavaScript.
- Refactor CSS to modern standards.
- Data Migration & Schema Refactoring
- Use Power Platform CLI (Pac papa) and Dataverse migration tools to migrate data from the standard model to the Enhanced Data Model.
- Form/List Modernization
- Recreate Entity Forms, Web Forms, and Lists into modern Power Pages Multistep Forms.
- Use AI prompt engineering to accelerate field validation scripts and optimize code.




- System Integration & Security
- Maintain seamless functionality across external integrations, including payment processing, authentication frameworks, and SharePoint.
- Map legacy security roles to Dataverse Table Permissions and Web Roles.
- Testing, Deployment & Knowledge Sharing
- Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Debug migration errors via AI diagnostic workflows.
- Support launch activities.
- Maintain technical documentation.
- Onboard incoming technical team members.
