We are a boutique public accounting firm in Lacombe, AB and currently seeking an accounting technician who works closely with the partner and has an ability to work independently while collaborating with other team members.

Job responsibilities:

- Full-cycle bookkeeping for our clients across various industries;
- Prepare and reconcile GST returns and other tax filings;
- Prepare trial balances, working papers, and supporting schedules for year-end accounting and tax preparation.
- Personal tax preparation;
- Communicate with clients to request missing documents, clarify transactions and follow up on outstanding items;
- Handle government correspondence and file resolution;
- Collaborate with team members prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities and deadlines.

Qualification and requirements:

- 1 to 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a public accounting firm;
- Post-secondary certificate, diploma,



or degree in accounting or business administration is preferred.
- Understanding of general ledger accounts, balance sheets, income statements, and accounting principles;
- Robust computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Organized, detail oriented and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies;
- Have great time management skills and ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines;
- Strong communication skills;
- Knowledge of CaseWare/Caseview, TaxCycle, Quickbooks, QBO, Sage, and Xero computer programs are an asset;
- Experience with year end working paper preparation is an advantage

Compensation is based on experience.

Reasonable hours all year round, limited overtime.
