We build intelligent safety systems for demanding industrial environments, including underground mining. We’re looking for a system-minded engineer to architect and optimize how our wireless embedded devices integrate with our edge computing platform. You’ll work directly with product leadership and take designs from concept to field deployment.
What you’ll do
- Define the system architecture between wireless embedded devices and the edge computing platform: protocols, data flow and timing
- Optimize end-to-end performance, including latency, wireless reliability, power consumption and compute load
- Design and test wireless sensor networks for harsh, high-interference environments
- Integrate hardware into a ROS-based software stack
- Bring up and validate sensors, networking and interfaces, then test them in the lab and in the field
- Document architecture, interfaces and test results
What we’re looking for
- Systems-architecture mindset across hardware, firmware, networking and software
- Hands-on experience with WiFi/BLE embedded devices (e.g. ESP32)
- Working knowledge of ROS/ROS 2
- Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/UDP, Ethernet, Automotive Ethernet, WiFi, BLE)
- Experience with wireless sensor networks
- Embedded Linux experience on edge computing hardware
- A track record of measurable performance optimization
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly
Nice to have
- Industrial experience (mining, heavy equipment, automotive or other harsh environments)
- Experience with ruggedized or vehicle-mounted hardware
- RF/antenna testing experience
- PCB design and circuit fundamentals
