OPG is hiring a Thermal Operating Supervisor for its Lennox facility on a 12-month contract. The supervisor oversees shift activities, performs regulated operating-engineer duties, and maintains safe, efficient plant operation. Success requires experience with dispatch operations, IESO requirements, and power plant control rooms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation
- Carry out Thermal Operating Technician core duties
- Assess and resolve technical operating issues
- Oversee shift work with work-management partners
- Apply technical procedures, standards, and legislation
Requirements:
- Second Class Operating Engineers Certificate
- Grade 12 or equivalent completion
- Ten years of power plant control room experience
- Experience with IESO and generating-station dispatch requirements
- Understanding of electricity and energy markets
