In this role, you will help govern Product and Material master data within the SAP S/4HANA environment, ensuring information is accurate, standardized, compliant, and managed consistently across regions.
As a member of the Data and Platform Governance team, you will configure and support master data governance processes, workflows, validation rules, and system integrations. You will combine strong SAP Master Data Governance expertise with a working knowledge of ABAP concepts to investigate issues, improve data quality, and support the continued development of McCain’s global master data landscape.
What You’ll Be Doing.
- Maintain Product and Material master data governance processes, from initial definition and implementation through ongoing execution and continuous improvement.
- Configure and support SAP Master Data Governance and SimpleMDG capabilities, including data models, business rules, approval workflows, validations, and governance processes.
- Implement global data governance policies, standards, frameworks, and procedures within the SAP S/4HANA environment.
- Support the implementation and integration of master data management, data governance, and data quality tools with systems such as SAP S/4HANA, Salesforce, and McCain’s Enterprise Data Platform.
- Monitor integrations between the MDM platform and connected systems, investigating failures and coordinating appropriate remediation.
- Perform root cause analysis of master data and workflow issues and ensure that corrective actions align with established governance policies and standards.
- Develop metrics, reports, audit methods, and automated validation approaches to monitor master data quality, integrity, and compliance.
- Analyze ABAP programs, Business Add-Ins, user exits, custom logic, SAP tables, CDS views, and data models associated with SAP MDG processes.
- Collaborate with ABAP developers and SAP technical teams to troubleshoot custom code, workflows, validation logic, derivations, and integration issues.
- Conduct impact assessments for system changes, upgrades, data model changes, and SAP S/4HANA transformation activities.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful.
- A bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least ten years of experience in data management or data governance, including experience with data quality, data protection, or related disciplines.
- Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP Master Data Governance, including configuring data models, governance processes, workflows, business rules, and validations.
- Experience implementing master data management solutions across multiple organizations, business units, or technology environments.
- Experience governing Product and Material master data within complex global systems.
- Working knowledge of ABAP development concepts, including Business Add-Ins, enhancement frameworks, user exits, custom logic analysis, debugging, and code review.
- The ability to analyze SAP tables, CDS views, data models, and custom developments that support master data processes.
- Experience integrating MDM and data governance platforms with SAP S/4HANA and other enterprise systems.
- Experience harmonizing systems, data, and processes across business areas, functions, or regions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to conduct root cause analysis and assess downstream impacts of master data changes.
- Experience working as part of an Agile team in a virtual and geographically distributed environment.
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver effectively with limited supervision in a quick-paced environment.
- An SAP Master Data Governance certification, such as MDG100, would strengthen your candidacy.
- Experience with Product Information Management, data catalogs, data governance platforms, and other MDM systems would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of the consumer packaged goods industry, including product hierarchies, SKU proliferation, and regulatory data requirements, would be considered an asset.
